, United StatesI have only been drawing and painting for about 4 years. I have taken a couple of classes, but have so much yet to learn. The acrylics and pastels are very forgiving and that is why I use them almost exclusively.
I live in the Northern California city of Redding with my husband. I have 2 adopted children who both live in San Diego and one step-son who is married with 2 little boys. I love being grandma and the boys love doing arts & crafts with me.
I have been very blessed to be able to have this means of expression come to me at this point in my life. The Lord has been very good to me and I feel so happy that I am able to share my work with others. I love seeing all of the art pieces here on PIL - they are very inspiring. Thank you for your comments, criticisms and prayers - Heaven knows I need them all to improve day by day.

Latest comment Hi CJ! This is a great subject and not an easy bird to draw. Good job though! I would try starting with a darker colour and then lightening up with highlights. Remember, all colours are not just one straight colour, they have quite a few tones in the one. I blend with fingers too. Some people don't recommend that but they're quick and very handy! Sally Ford
