Art for me is for enjoyment. However, as I "suffer" from partial colour blindness I need to work a little differently from most artists. By using mainly aquarelle and pastel pencils, which have the name of the colour on them, I am able to keep painting and enjoying art. Half my life is spent in Scotland and the other in Greece (Greek wife) so it is a bit chalk and cheese but I try to follow 50 year old advice from my school art teacher - paint only what you feel really strongly about.
As for the Hirsts and Emins that sell supposed "art" - all I can say is that there are a lot of "them" about.

Latest comment I like your owl. I like detail. Obviously you do to. I also like your view about paint what you really feel. I have people asking me "what would you charge to do..." No thanks. I don't do requests.... rick burton

Is it really so hard to give substance in an abstract or it is just because is my first try? Any comments and suggestions much appreciated. Thanks so much!
I do like this abstract, Christina, because intuitively, you used the "golden Rule" (my own) - use at least 3 different values of paint.... here are yellow =... view answer
