Art for me is for enjoyment. However, as I "suffer" from partial colour blindness I need to work a little differently from most artists. By using mainly aquarelle and pastel pencils, which have the name of the colour on them, I am able to keep painting and enjoying art. Half my life is spent in Scotland and the other in Greece (Greek wife) so it is a bit chalk and cheese but I try to follow 50 year old advice from my school art teacher - paint only what you feel really strongly about.
As for the Hirsts and Emins that sell supposed "art" - all I can say is that there are a lot of "them" about.
