John Mullins
,
United StatesI have long been a devoted follower of all forms of visual art and the creative minds that produce images for our pleasure/reaction.
Before I retired from a career in training and education in social work, art was my avocation. Now I am able to lose myself in creating art as much as I care, between travel excursions of course.
I am a self-taught artist and I have experimented with various mediums over the decades but I inevitably return to the intrigue of graphite and charcoal portraits. The process of capturing light and shadow in order to create a special mood or emotion in the intricate planes of the face is sometimes frustrating, but it is always a facinating experience. Getting lost in the creation of light and shadows that result in a face is quite simply addicting.
I have become a legitimate artist through constant feedback from followers of my works but I would like to become a master artist by continuing to solicit constructive criticism and to learn from the true masters.
Prints of my art as seen on this site are for sale by contacting me at this site. I am also available to do commission work. I have garnered a following of satisfied and loyal clients over the years. Prices are reasonable and based on size and/or number of faces.I approach every commission with the goal of capturing the essence of energy and emotion through expressive realism.
Please view my work at your leisure and please share your unabashed honest feedback so that I might continue to enhance my skills and techiques.
Thank you in advance for your comments.I hope your viewing experience is enjoyable.
