I have only known the life as an artist. My father, an artist himself, believed in creativity, banning coloring books and instead I was given huge sheets of paper, paints, etc. and my father said, "Make your marks Michelle!" I have been doing so since then painting my beloved travels and hiking trips across the USA.
My love is landscape painting: Michigan's four seasons, Californias coastline, Lake Tahoes beautiful blue water, S. Dakotas never ending sky, Nevadas desert. I feel the artist must have been there, smelled the air, and experienced the view first hand to be able to translate that experience on canvas.
I paint with an impressionistic hand. Up close one can see the weavings of blues, violets, and silver in the water, but farther away the painting appears very realistic, almost photo-realistic.

So here is the one with some light shadows I did with pencil. What do you think? Should I erase or paint it over with light gray?
