MONTE WRIGHT
Monte is a mixed-media artist from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada who has shown his work for over four decades .He is well-known in the K-W area for his expansive murals and unique art forms. Monte considers himself a futurist who has always explored new and imaginative concepts. His paintings may be found in many collections throughout Ontario and parts of Canada and the United States.
Over the years, Monte has been influenced by his Christian beliefs, our natural environment and societal issues. His images welcome the mysteries of form and space through the interplay of light and shadow. Imaginative, expressionistic paintings gradually led to an extensive body of works based on masks in society.
Monte believes that the spiritual co-existence between humankind and masks express mystery, energy and life. He feels that we wear masks to hide our true thoughts and feelings. This concept is expressed through a variety of media: bold, canvas paintings that examine our role in the workplace, romantic collages that deal with the issues of power, love and control, digital images that reveal the world internationally.
The chromatic plasticity prints“ Phils World 1 and Phil’s World 3, “ discover a new relationship. The intertwined images emotionally stir the inner spirit. Surreal worlds are created through flowing images, frozen in time and space.
