Ondina
I have been an Artist since I was a child. My family had to leave everything that we owned back in Cuba, in 1962. We flew to the 'US' and moved to Astoria, NY. It was there that my 2nd grade teacher, first notice my aptitude with Art. All during my Elementary years of school I was usually chosen to decorate the rear wall of the classrooms. In High School, I was in the Art Club, which created 'Back Drops' for football games and other events. I was chosen as the Silver Knight Nominee (from the Miami Herald) in my Senior year. During my Junior and Senior years, a few art students were granted free figure classes, twice a week, at the South Florida Art Institute.
It was there that I first studied the Human Figure and Anatomy. I was granted a scholarship to attend Miami Dade Community College. It was there that I won a 1st Place for a piece I did with Fabric. I continued attending SFAI for many years 'Gratis'. I occasionally modeled for them dressed.
I was also Cerified & worked as a Graphic Artist for many years. I was tutored in Computer Graphics using the Adobe Illustrator Program.
I still continue to create both, Fine & Graphic Art.
