Portrait in oil. I did this portrait as a gift for our close friends. Tyler and Min are their sons and TJ is the 15 year old puppy in the middle. A special thanks to Chuck for his advice while I was working on it!!

Micheal, thank you so much for your kind words and generous "vote"! My friend Tracy (their Mom) puts the red bandana (which is actually a large red cloth napkin) on TJ every year around Christmas. It really does look good on her - she wears it well. I really tried to capture the mood of the three . . . Tyler (right) is the big brother and is very good at it (that is why I have his arm encompassing Min and TJ like he is the protector. Min (left) is a bit of a handful but so darn cute he can get away with it. For the portrait I gave him his "I'm a good boy look". And, well TJ, she is just the sweetest old girl - she is just a great dog with lots of love to give. Thanks again for your comment! All my best to you! Mic

I agree with Steve and Michael, that bandana gives it a great punch of color. The boy's characters come through...that is, they don't look flat and photgraphically lifeless, which I seem to get from working from photos. Your skin tones are very nice. Good job!

MuralMan, Thanks! I am glad that it doesn't look stiff. I used photos but had to piece it together from a few. When I looked at the photos I took of Min and Tyler most of them were the two rolling around on the floor with each other in a headlock. I also had to improvise with TJ because she is camera shy. But all in all I am pleased and my friends are too and that is the important thing. Thanks again for the compliments! :)Mic

for Michele Geller

Hello, my name is Michele Geller but you can call me Mic for short. I have enjoyed creating artwork for as long as I can remember. There was a long period where I didn't do anything with my art but once I started again it was like the flood gates opened. I have worked in almost all mediums - pencil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, and most recently have fallen in love with oils. I work full time in business but love creating art in my spare time. I am inspired by many things but mostly nature is what I enjoy the most. I have a very eclectic work of art (I blame it on being a Gemini). I want to thank all of the wonderful artists on this site that have inspired me to be better, for your truthful critisms, and for your kind words. I am truly fortunate to have found this site!
