Love your naive style, because I fall in love with the simplest things in life. I read your biography and it's a pleasure to meet someone who really worked hard inside your great Country~, which I never visited, because of the too many hours closed in a plane. These people waiting for the train, seem to be great friends, giving hand in hand. My 5 stars and all my best, Isaura

Hi Edward, I love this whimsical outback painting. The subject matter is so Aussie. Reminds me a bit of Birdsville after the races are over and people are leaving town. Packed up the Ackubra and the Drizabones and heading back to the "big smoke".
I love the Aussie colours you have used.
Hope you have a good Australia day.. I'm spending mine on the couch.. Bugger the BBQ! It's total fire ban anyway!! 5***** Kerry

Colourful and typical of the 'Outback' small town people, waiting for the bus. Haphazardly leaning over the fence, and 'yarning' with your neighbour! Love the rustic reds greens and browns. The midget people are fabulous, and full of character too! Love the general expression of 'waiting in anticipation' for The Bus is Coming! Really 'down to earth'! 5***** Regards angela

Excellent work. there is so much going on in this painting. Lots of little stories. I particularly like the little guy talking to the animal right in the foreground. Wonder what he is saying to it? 5***** Regards Susie.

Hello Susie; thank you for the wonderful interpretation. It’s great to see someone get involved in the story line. I would love to know what the bloke is saying to his old faithful animal and mate too. If you don’t mind I might take the liberty to suggest he is saying something along these lines. (Guess who’s coming on the bus to see you me old mate?)

Oh my gosh EJ, I just love this painting, it's perfect in every way, and so Aussie it makes you feel good inside. This painting has a kind of Pro Heart style look about it, I have always loved Pro's paintings and Pro himself for that matter, he and his wife Raylee and I have exchanged christmas cards for about 20 years now, and I miss him indeed. This painting is just simply brilliant, your talent as an artist is really outstanding, and your representation of Australia is spot on. Good on you for having the ability to show the world not only our beautiful country, but the fun loving character of a typical Aussie, I love this painting, it's fabulous.

Hello Deborah; you have brightened my day, I thank you for the wonderful feedback. To be mentioned in the same paragraph as Pro Hart is a wonderful compliment. I have admired Pro's work for ever it seems. To not be able to see more of his wonderful and humorous work is sad for all and a great lose to Art. It's great to hear you had the privilege to know him; he is one of a kind.

Pro and I have similar backgrounds really, living and working in the great Aussie bush with all its brilliant color. Funny thing is a lot of my outback works could relate to me subconsciously. When I paint these particular works the story just flows out of me, almost like I have been there.

Once again Deborah thank you for the wonderful compliment, Good Health; EJ

your welcome EJ and deserving of it. Yes, Pro does have similar back ground as you and a lot of his works have a significant origin, from his life in broken hill; his painting Josephs painting was painted for his grandson who passed away from Sids, he was a family man and a devout christian. A down to earth guy really that was very accessable considering his prominent stature as an artist. I liked him a lot because he was just a nice guy. He and Raylee both just typical country folk. Will take a closer look at your works EJ, I really do love them.

Artist Statement
for EJCairns
EJCairnsA little background on myself;

Brought up in the Gold mining town of Kalgoorlie Western Australia, I now live in the Perth Darling Range W.A. and have done so for a number of years. Although, my heart is in the Australian outback, I venture back to the bush when possible. Painting and Art has been a passion for as long as I can remember.

The experiences and journeys into the great Aussie outback have given me a deep insight and respect for the people who choose to work and live their lives in the mighty Australian Bush. I too have lived and worked in some of the most remote places in our great land. My experiences and travel range between the coast and the centre of our great land.

In particular the colors of the inland and its desert have left a colorful impression.

This upbringing stands me in good stead to draw from my experiences and the colors to put brush to canvas and paint images of our great outback.

My paintings will vary depending on the inspirations that come to mind Eg; Naïve; Abstract; Impressionism; Mining; legends and characters of the Australian Bush. I try to capture the Aussie sense of humor. It’s an integral part of the outback character, with a happy go lucky, she'll be right Mate outlook on life.

Influences;

Claude Monet; Pro Hart; Brett Whitley; Salvador DALÍ; Sidney Nolan
