Thiw is a really great work and concept. While time is going , leaves back a bit of melancholy and sweetness on the face and the heart. Excellent done!*****+
Very lovely portrait, Carol,,It seems like she is in a daydream ,remembering good times!, I love her eyes,,so sincere, and a little blush in her cheeks,,,beautiful! 5***** Sincerely, Doris
Love this pastelwork great work. See you also like to work with pastels. Since I myself started with pastels I experienced the great possibilitys of pastels.
Times gone by is a strong and beautiful portrait Carol. The wonderful pastel colours are so powerful. This distinctive face of a older lady is so handsome! Excellent the light in this work. Very well done. Kind regards, Robert
This is so fantastic! I found myself sitting here starting to think myself.. where did time go and did I do things right. Your face features are really excellent and I like the expression you captured~as the feelings passed on to me -thinking away! Excellent job :)
This is amazing Carol, I think it probably touches a nerve with all of us who are getting that little bit older. It is a touching piece beautifully portrayed 5*****
I do not know if it is my stage in life or what..but I see wisdom and a little sadness...perhaps exhaustion in her face...love the lines and the soft colors...oh how my Grandma had those soft colors even in her 80's...beautiful
The subtle tones combined with the confident strokes of your pencil have produced a powerfully expressive portrait that invites a range of emotions from this viewer. The eyes alone are a source of great emotional reaction. Excellent work of fine art. Congratulations Carol! 5*****
Thank you my dear Carol for the kind comment on my "Purple Moon".. I am so glad you like this "view on Africa" too..:-) I very appreciate it. Robert Happy Easter!!!
Hello Carol. This is a superb portrait of 'Times gone by'! Really lovely skin tones and shades of light brown and light pinks, showing the contours of the facial expression. I love the detail line work on the eyes, wonderful! 5***** Regards Angela Susan

Thanks Darleene for your comments, I have just had an eye op so will be out of action for a while but will certainly attempt to do another one full of life. thanks for your kind words.
Hi Carol, I really love the softness in this. I admire especially how you were able to keep that in combination with the strong shadow/light contrast. Just great.
What a beautiful piece of art depicting the mature face. I love it. She is so beautiful in her aging, and both the piece of art, and the beautiful presentation of maturity is wonderful...thank you so much! Wanda Russell
