I have changed my profile picture to the incredible pastel Paul Horton did of me...I absolutely love it to bits, and want to say thank you again dear Paul....also so very generous of him to offer the original to me as a gift...WOW! I cannot wait for it to arrive...'happy days'xx
I am a solatary artist, I work from my small studio at home. I find my inspiration from all around me, and how I am feeling at the time. I went to art college for 3years & from there experimented with different medias, until I found what I enjoyed the most. I love working with colour on a huge scale & my largest commission to date is 200cm x 300cm. I believe everyone can create art, but not everyone wants to! I have probably painted around 300 canvas's over the last 6years & I hope to paint many more. This site is wonderful for all of us arty folk, it is so reassuring & exciting to see other works & when I am not in my studio, I enjoy browsing & commenting on all the pics that catch my eye. Thank you to all who hve commented & voted & long may this site stay buzzing!

I am blushing at your comments on my profile pic...you flatter me.xx
So to the new work… I can see it as an unfinished work and that your minds eye perceived something more – yet you stopped and I do not think it was for a critique. As someone who is out there I must say it is finished as it shows the underpinnings of a great work. The foundations are sound and the style unique. The feeling of as you say unfinished is somber and the colors are divine along with the contrast against the jewels. The sparkle is painterly in it self and balances against the rest of the composition.
Now could this be a new you emerging and a variation of style and statement? I am not sure but I like it and after all what do I know about true art? It is stunning so far and as you stand before it again with brush in hand it will transform into an even greater work of art.
PS Your new statement photo is STUNNING!!
Long time no see eh!!

I am well & hope the same for you both...I have now replaced the pic with the finished piece.xx
p.s your rose is amazing.
What a magnificent expression of the red spectrum! After reading your comments on how you produced the "sparkle" I am impressed. Gustav Klimt used gold leaf to add sophistication to his paintings. Zirconium crystals is a nice touch. I wonder if anyone has used natural, gem quality diamonds? CED

Beautiful piece of art.

I seem to have been playing around with adding things to my oils, but for gifts for friends! fun.
but nothing like this i love it loads. hope all is well for you this year seems a good one for lots i would say :) x
Sowila.
Best regards!
I do see darkness in it, maybe because of the sun on the day my brother-in-law and 12 year old nephew died in a bushfire in The Grampians National Park.
Therefore I viewed it from my heart, and it is certainly a spectacular painting of which you should be proud. The colorings, the balance, and the movement is beautifully executed.
I know it is not done with Gilding. I love it so much I make an exception. Thanks. (accepted)
Thank you very much,I prepare me to reply...You can read it after few minits on my page....I'm little tired...Painted two nights...
