I'm so happy you are experimenting with the seascapes! It's a real treat to those of us who loves your work... And also nice to see that you've brought the softness from your flowers into this as well :) Keep it up!
Hugs from Tine

I love it my friend.
Best wishes,
Dick.

This is no longer "My Secret Place." You have shared it with the world and I thank you very kindly for your generosity. You are a superior still-life painter, master flower painter, and magnificent landscape artist. I find it both humbling and inspiring to view this masterpiece. Everything about this painting is mesmerizing. Congratulations. CED
I do have a slight critique (sorry), the white foam feels a little static at this moment, I don't get the feeling of it's rolling towards the shore. The underside of the wave is working tremendously, I can feel it drawing out. There would be more shadows of dark (even if only pin pricks of dark)in those lighter sections which will get the wave rolling again :) (sorry for the pun), towards the shore.
Otherwise, I think it's just tremendous mate.

We're running off to see Avatar again, this time in Imax.
Just had to congratulate you again on reaching the #1 Popular spot. I love how you did that crashing wave, and see how to improve mine.
Thanks for your kind words about my Kiss at Dusk - it was great fun, like a fairy tale. I know what you mean about looking surreal.
So Glad Lettie is feel better! Many hugs, Rene

(....I have one hint - this is my little morning lecture for the water painters....:)-: the element of water, the character of water, especially when you are painting waves have a "home made" problem...When you compaire William Turners early waterscapes with his later water and ship paintings, you can imedeatly see what I am talking about.....
His early waves were described as "made out of concreet", though he showed wild waves and stormy scenes....but the water seemed like a video still: frozen......in the later more preimpressionistic phase shows Turner a dissolved, transparent water world, where inside the eye of the perceiver is kind of reaction provoked and to be sensed....(the water was painted unfocused) and so one has the idea of movement...it is a physical and psychological fact, that the blood circulation in our eyes starts when something is unfocused...so what I am saying is: when you paint your waves just a bit more without too much clearnes and focus (in the lower parts next to the black), it would have more the quality of moving....and that would be perfect. On the right hand side, where the spray "jumps" over the rocks, you did it just right! OK?
Sowila.
It's refreshing, and quite spiritual. Looking forward to seeing more of these from you!
Straight to my faves.
Now I need to work out how I can also get 80+ comments in 5 days!
