Oh, very nice balance, and I love the red over the yellow. What an interesting work, Carol. It has a lot going on, but not too much as it makes me want to look deeper into it. It feels happy, your citrus. Love it.

Carol~ I think this is so beautiful and those colors with your gold leaf makes this so stunning that I want this for my wall... and your design and all you did... gosh I could go on and on.. can you tell I love all you did... :):)
You should get prints made of this to.. and make cards...just an idea.. something how you should let the world to see this jem.... :):)
and the gold leaf... I haven't tried it yet... I bought it.. but seems so hard to use since it falls apart at the touch.. any suggestions for your silly friend.. or did you use the liquid type? :):)
6 months
oh you sweet lady chrisann. thank you. re gold leaf, i use both the leaf and the liquid but the liquid dries the lid on and i can't get it off again so it's harder than the regular stuff. you can try picking it up gently with a soft brush but if it falls apart i just keep putting it on in little pieces and smooth it out when it dries. it is never going to come out completely smooth (at least for me) anyway and a little texture doesn't hurt. it is fun and pretty but doesn't photograph well. looks sort of gray in photo. try it and have fun. let me know.

Artist Statement
for Carol 2
Carol 2"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time" Thomas Merton. I am an artist. Not that my work, which is all experimental is especially good. It’s just that it reflects my dreams, my fantasies, my soul. My inspiration comes from everything I see around me, music, the clear blue sky but mostly from other artists on this site who, good or not so good, are wondrous, kind, funny, tragic and loving people. It is dangerous for me to drive down the street because my eyes get drawn to a cloud or a mountain or a tree and I see a painting instead of the road. Bad girl! I have been around so long that I’ve seen and done just about everything. I listen to music that was popular when or before most of you were born. It is not possible to do art without music and when possible a glass of wine helps. I can start a painting around other people, but must finish it myself. Originality is all I have and even if it isn’t fine art it is from me. I want to save the earth and a thousand years of peace and to know that no animal or child will ever again see abuse. I am a dreamer and a realist – my art can’t seem to decide which any more than I can. So…that’s me.
