She is beautiful! Such personality in that face Graeme! This is a wonderfully painted portrait! Love the way the light is shining behind her. An excellent 5***** from me to you!
My dear Graeme. I seee you are painting all the master personalities in André Rieu's orchestra. Carmen Monarcha, the beautiful Brazilian solist is very well portrayed. I adore her voice and from all the others too. A great theme, my Friend. I usually paint at the sound of André Rieu's orchestra. My sky of stars for you. And as always all my warm hugs. Isaura
Hi Graeme, what a beautiful portrait of Carmen Monarcha...(how comes that you have chosen this subject?)I really appreciate the colorful dark background and how the hair is captured so well in front of that. The red blossom does a great job and the expression on her face is just wonderful...this faint smile...and everything is just perfect!
She is so beautiful! I really like the way you captured her expression with nice arrangement of tone colors and then all you did with the rest... Outstanding job!~ 5 * and so many more well deserved! :)

This is a very very beautiful painting Graeme! The expression on her face and the beautiful skin tones! 5***** What colors do you use for skin tones in acrylic. I use watercolor but have a commission I will be doing in acrylics. I was thinking of using the same color scheme. I like your skin tones.
Hi Nancy, start off with yellow oxide, cad red mixed with white...add burnt sienna for medium mix and raw umber for shadows...light areas are cad yellow light, cad red + white with very light areas lots of white...experiment with different mixes and colors and if it starts to go wrong then let it dry and start again...hope this helps, regards graeme.
graemen this is a wonderful portrait..i discovered black as a perfect background for my own portrait recently done and would never have considered it previously..
