really enjoyed the implication of another reality here. When young, I stumbled on a hidden paradise an old bloke ( now legless from diabetes) had built in WW2. In an overgrown thicket was a tiny plastic angel suspended in the trees, now covered in slime and moss: enchanting,lost to the usual world, just like this painting of yours.

I make my own superstitions - 100 sounds cool - like a $100 note! LOL! But as in chinese numerology add the numbers and reduce til you get a single digit. 99 - 9+9=18, 1+8=9 - 9 is a power number so I settled for 99 lol! ;-) I couldnt wait;-)

Artist's Statement:

(portrait of my wife, Faith ===>)

When I paint a person (from photo or in person) or an object, I don't try to replicate every physical detail. Instead, I attempt to capture what that person or the object projects. It maybe a pose, costume, smile, stillness or moment of silence. The main intention is not only achieve a likeness of the person or object, but to also capture a moment or essence about he/her or the object that tells a story, or in some way engages the viewer’s imagination. Pencil and Charcoal sketching, along with Oil, Watercolor and Pastel painting, were a large part of my life throughout high school and college years beside Computer Science.

Self taught.
