This was an acrylic painting using Liquitex Heavy Body paints on a deep 12" x 10" box canvas. I enjoyed painting this over several days and it is finished with a clear gloss glaze.
Judith: welcome to PIL: Your "English Lavender Fields" is a fantastic painting. The linear perspective is perfect. Your color palette is magnificent. Warm wishes, Carl

I really enjoyed painting the Lavender Fields as it was quite challenging to get the perspective right as well as the colour. I really appreciate your comments and am looking forward to exploring the site and particularly your paintings. Thank you all for your lovely compliments Judith
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We have Lavender fields near my village and will be visiting them at the beginning of August so hope to do another painting. Best wishes Judith

I was drawn by the glorious colour in this painting, it is just so beautiful - You can almost smell the lavender! Tasmania boasts the Bridestowe Lavender Farm which is world famous but as yet haven't been able to visit when it is in full bloom in January. 5***** for this lovely work.

My paintings are in mainly acrylic and have recently started to use soft pastels and pastel pencils and really love this medium. For my subjects I draw on the numerous photographs I took whilst visiting South Africa, Spain, France and Italy and of course the UK where I live.
