Acrylic on Paper. This was one of the numerous little passages in Mojacar Pueblo. I just loved the bougainvillaea that stretched between the buildings. I used blues and purples for my shadows as they seemed more appropriate than the greys.
Wonderful passage, very detailed, very human and warm. I love the shadow colour going with the white of the houses.Lovely balconies, bougainvillaea, woman figure.
I like the way you have used blues for the shadows. It gives a coolness to a sun baked spot, creating a welcome shade. I know the village. One of my favourite Spanish hideaways.

Love this painting too Judith, You are very versatile and I agree with your choice of your use of the blues instead of greys, it gives much more warmth to the painting.5*.
Thank you Sabine. I discovered a wonderful book by artist John Hammond that inspired me and I use his colour pallet for most of my rural and urban landscapes.

My paintings are in mainly acrylic and have recently started to use soft pastels and pastel pencils and really love this medium. For my subjects I draw on the numerous photographs I took whilst visiting South Africa, Spain, France and Italy and of course the UK where I live.
I can feel the sun and the fun...:-)
Beautiful colours Judith.
Kind regards, Robert
