Artist Statement

Karen MurrayI have never studied art but always enjoyed drawing, it is a hobby and a continual learning curve. I currently work within a well established Breast Cancer Research Group, based in Dundee.
I draw in my spare time, usually night time when my 4 year old daughter is asleep. I plan to try and add colour to my drawings to see what transpires. I would appreciate any suggestions as how to better my drawings and as to which is the next best medium to work with. Please be patient with my watercolour painting as I do struggle with it, infact it is becoming my nemesis, but I will persevere! All your comments have been wonderful and the support here is fantastic. Thank you all very much.There are so many talented artists here, that I do not feel...
Can you mimic the buttery sheen of oil with acrylic. I have some areas on here that need it ( the red window sills in light) but I can't produce it - it dries...
I'M sure they make a gloss acrylic substance. But I have always painted in oils, for that glowing penetration. Too me acrylic is plastic..... dries fast but... view answer
