Thanks Sue, this Kingfisher hangs around the garden, I think he? or she? goes fishing in the nearby pits and ponds in the fields, a cheeky little bird.

This is a wonderful watercolour. The kingfisher is one of my favourite birds because of the bright colours and you've captured it beautifully. Amazing. Well done!

I love Kingfishers. I used to see them flying along the Grand Union canal near Knowle in the West Midlands when I was fishing. You would just see the flash of irridescent blue before they dived into the water to catch a small fish. You have created a beautiful image of a lovely bird shown in a classic pose.

for Andrew Usher
Andrew UsherI have painted on and off all my life, but fours years ago I started painting full time, It was a challenge, but well worth it, I paint what I want, unless it is a commission piece, I love abstracts because it gives me freedom to express myself, I like to paint in inks, watercolour, charcoal, pencil, and oils, I try different styles and techniques, when painting the birds, I use a CSI type magnifying lamp so as to get the fine detail, but this is very hard on the eyes, hope you enjoy my work.
So here is the one with some light shadows I did with pencil. What do you think? Should I erase or paint it over with light gray?
Hello Fariba. I also missed this one! I think I nice watery Paynes grey would work nicely:) shadows are always magic as they instantly attach the article to... view answer
