Another Promise by Kirk Witmer

Another Promise

The reaction to one 6x8 that I posted some time ago has been so positive that I decided to try it again on a larger scale. (8x10") If this gets a good response I may go at it again even larger and with more of a winter theme and maybe some holly berries. Let me know what you think.

Magnificient Kirk, I would love to see one with holly berries. During my visit to my cousin in Wales a number of years ago there were such a lot of holly berries, so beautiful!! One will bring back pleasant memories. We don't have them in here in my part of the country.

Thanks for your support Cyril. Yes, I'm thinking a holly branch encrusted in ice could make an attractive Christmas card! :) Maybe for next year though. A little late for now.

Kirk, I love "close up" of nature, just like you did here! I think you should do the berries! It teaches the viewer how beautiful nature is up close.

Thanks Barry. I like doing these backgrounds too. Just to sort of suggest something and then blur it up. You might want to consider that option for behind your barrel racer.

Artist Statement
for Kirk Witmer
Kirk WitmerCONFESSIONS OF A PIL JUNKIE
After a year and a half of being involved with PIL I came to realize that I will have to limit the amount of time I give to the site. I've been spending so much time with the social aspects of PIL that it is keeping me from being productive as an artist. I'll continue to share some of my work here and will read comments from time to time, but I recognize that I must greatly limit the time I can afford for the interactive aspects of the site. I'm sorry about making this very difficult decision but I'm feeling a great need to keep my hands off the keyboard and the mouse and instead fill them with brushes and pencils.
I wish all of you reading this the very best in your artistic endeavours and I will be watching...
