this looks very nice, it would be easier to see the full potential if the photos were taken straight on, and filling the frame. :)

Artist Statement
for suzie nichols
I recently got back into drawing and painting when I retrained as a garden designer. I have attended classes in life drawing and water based oils as well as general drawing and painting classes. I draw and paint for relaxation and mainly for myself- my house is filling up with paintings I cannot bear to part with! I am open to occassionally taking commissions.
I struggle with backgrounds - getting it to relate to the subject etc.. do you have any suggestions to make it easier?
Pretty horse! Backgrounds are just that Jackie "in the back"...... you don't really want to draw the eye there - just a backdrop to 'present' your subject. ... view answer
