Oh Lydia, I got here first yipeeee!! This is so good I feel like deleting my sunset, you know one of my favourite artists is Turner as his atmospheric work was spine tingling, my god you have the same affect love this so much this is like heaven trying to push through the clouds and by heaven I mean in any sense one feels heaven is, for me it is nature at its best. LOVE ITXXXXXXXXX 20,000000000***********************
You make me laugh so much Jules!!!! Your comment is just beautiful! thankyou for loving it...painting it when i spoke to you last and finished it last night so i wrapt in it....I think this one will stay with me...i'm not going to sell it....Felt too good when creating it so i'll take that as a sign! ha! hey...keep waffling...i love it! big kiss from me!
I think I can't explain what I feel looking at this better then jules did. I could copy and paste, but it's not so elegant. Anyway, it looks like clouds opening on paradise...
great.
Lydia, when i saw your "glow in the forest" with green and something new in the search of light and composition, i was really shoked! I've see that a new road opened at front of you and that you are in motion, not static. This is GREAT!
And i was really curious about your NEXT paintings and future...
NOW that i see this "Stay For Good This Time", i feel excited!
This work makes me think that LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! Transmit me POSITIVITY and JOY; light after dark...Hope and endless beauty!
The rays of light are simply STUNNING and the sky in background absolutely AMAZING!
Again, watching from far, it seems an ABSTRACT WORK! Lydia, you remain my favourite on PIL! FOREVER.
Thank YOU Roberto...yay! HOPE and ENDLESS Beauty...that's what it's all about. Keeping the inner glow inside ourselves and watching the glow around us be bright...again thankyou for the WORDS!
Lydia you're fantastic!! so beautiful cant say enough!!New point of view jet still an other masterpiece...thanks for your great part of sharing!!Love It!!!! ***********************
Lydia, this just makes me feel good and warm inside! The sun starting to peek out behind the dark clouds. You say it is abstract, but I feel it is also representational. Either way it is brilliant... and so big! Congrats and thanks for sharing... Rob
Wonderful picture!I don't agree with some people who say that you are "artist in progress"-You have a complete command of your art,so you are a real artist!Real artists Are always in progress:))))555
Hi Lydia, I agree totally & I sometimes get nervous when I am commissioned..although it has taken me down certain paths where I have found new & exciting ideas. I have just been commissioned to paint a rather large city scape 400 x 100cm, but with more realism to it..eeeek! Another challenge another painting...wish me luck& thankyou for your support & encouragment x
When did this come on - never thought i'd miss one of yours. of course it's a masterpiece. When reading the comments between "our friends" it is apparent that you are philosophers as well as artists. how i love it - and you.
Beautiful! this is just breath taking. So glad your keeping this one for you... Your work is truly amazing.. and would like to see more of your work.. and would like to learn from you!! .:) :) chrisann :) :) :)
Really,I believe, I'm in a great company here, as like as you too....
..and I think that, here most important: the new language...which comes from the nature inside ourselves and outside the universum....and we now could understand each other..so,it's a great thing!!
maybe, too grandiously words,no probleme, because ,inside my brain../ and I'm sure also another friends too.../ we have more colours words yet what's will make on a canvas in the future not only to this site, but to more and more "important" mans.../..politics.??/hm.....?!I hope ..
Am almost speechless - just adore this painting, the light and the contrasts are just magnificent. Really really really good work. If i had space, i would love that hanging on a wall in my home
Beautifully painted Lydia, each time I view it I see something different, but one thing stays the same....a warm feeling inside that says.....I love it. 5*
Well sheesh, I get here last, lol. Everyone said it already.
I am moved by the light that is streaming through the clouds. It truly is an inspiring work, Lydia. You do know how to blow a person's mind, girl. ************************************
to ALL you TERRIFIC creating artists who have all humbled me with your feelings towards 'Stay for good this time' , i am greatly appreciative. Believe me!!!
This skyscape was outside my window 2 weeks ago , and i of course had to paint it....the skies i see at some stages of the year are sooooo surreal that if i painted them true to how they look, you would not believe the true formations, so some skyscapes i have to 'calm' down for the viewer to believe me. :)))))))) The 'romance' in this particular composition attracted me far too much to ignore.
Again i thank you all...and just 2 little notes if i may.... to Rob Heath....i too believe i painted this in a representational way, yet our extremely talented friend Roberto 'Roy' believes i am showing signs of Abstract..( hey, i'll take any compliment from him :)) ) and to Antonino, of course i understand what you say... again i appreciate the comments very much!!!!!
You are truly blessed. The gift God has given you should be seen by all. Please do me a favor, if you have sibllings, children, or even best friends...please teach them to do what you do...so in the next generation, your talents can "live on!" Yvette Loveless, wife of James Loveless.
Oh what could I possibly say that Others have not said before me? I suppose honest sentiment is all I really have to offer. :) It's beautiful. Truly, I saw it out of the corner of my eye by chance, and I had to gasp. The page couldn't load quick enough. And now I look below and see other works of yours, and see that for an artist to paint SO many masterpieces of color such as these, they must have a beautiful soul indeed. haha sorry, I'm a sentimentalist. I have heart episodes, where my heart rate speeds up....and they're generally emotion related? Thought you might get a kick out of that I TOTALLY just had an episode, looking at your paintings. I feel like a dork. :) anyways, five stars obviously, your work is inspirational to a young aspiring painter, and I'll definitely be keeping my eye on you :)
Hi Lydia, yet another very alluring and moving piece. I've come to look forward to reading your titles for each of your paintings now. When we see beautiful skies and landscapes such as these something compels us to feel compassion.
"For a moment of night we have a glimpse of ourselves and of our world islanded in a stream of stars - pilgrims of mortality, voyaging between horizons across the eternal seas of space and time" Henry Beston
You reminded me of Beston's quote. For me your work has this effect....
you have made my heart flutter with pride...thankyou ever so much for your beautiful words and for the words of Henry Beston...i will be painting his words on my studio walls tonight! thankyou again
thankyou for your advice! it was very nice to hear back from you, i would love to sell my paintings in the future i think its a great idea like what you said about how it doesnt feel like work because you love doing it! however i put some of my work in a gallery to see if anyone wanted to buy it but i got no bidders and i was really upset so i have lost quite abit of confidence in doing that, i'm paranoid that no one likes them and theres something wrong with them if that makes sense, love amanda xxx
Dont be dispondent as it took me years before i sold anything: Your work is very good just keep on going: Let non sales be a positive, it should make you more determined: Its taken me 30 years to get where i am now and i have a bit to go yet:
Patience is a virtue, out there somewhere, someone would love your work on their wall:
John:
Lydia, Your "Stay For Good This Time" speaks such truth about the mystery that seems to hide just beyond the visible. You have no idea at the amounts of mud that I've generated, attempting to paint a fiery sky! Your work is grand!
Thank you Lydia, you are so sweet. I read you lived in Africa. I will have to find out about your life - no wonder you have such exciting paintings. What a pleasure to know you (sort of). Want to know more later. love you.
Lydia this is absolutely beautiful....looks like everyone else thinks so also....thought I'd never get to the bottom of the page ha ha. It has such a "majestic" feel to it.
Thank you so much for your kind and emotional comments. i'm flattered with your kindness and opinion. it really means a lot to me coming from a lovely person like you! :-) huge kiss
I was looking at your beautiful paintings again, they are all too good to
say which is best, but this one and "Stay A Little Longer" are mesmerizing
to me. Your a Goddess with a brush.
lydia, i thank you for your touching well wishes to me. i will be fine because it's all just "life"...and now that i have found another outlet to express the feelings within....well, sometimes that is just as good as it gets, and it is pretty good indeed.
especially when we can all feel connected somehow on here.
it feels sweet.
thank you again tho.
oh...i just looked at the painting here...haven't seen this one yet...it is gorgeous. love the purple!!!
:)
lydia. ilove your painting, like you i love oranges and reds and yellows, at the moment i am doing an orangey, yellowy, redy, nudey. your a cracking artist, no wonder your work sells. xx
thank you marcella....i appreciate your kind comments very much...i feel if there is no light that shines then there is no 'life' to view and experience.
benissimo troppo! you have worked long and hard (i'm guessing)at capturing sky and sunrise sunset paintings. they are easy to overkill even if the one you are sketching is super vibrant. if you use the same vibrant colors on paper/canas it will be sooooo strong. notice in chinese paintings, there are usually no clouds and rarely a sunrise sunset. i take a chance every time i paint traditional paintings that a sunset sunrise will ruin it. congratulations!
i appreciate your kind comments...i am i pleased that you like this work. I am absolutely attracted to the 'unreal' way the sky can show itself. Again I thankyou
Thank you so much for your nice comment. I did read your statement and saw that this kind of colours make you happy.
I hope it does. The concept of this one is ten years old. It was a pastel drawing, which I sold very quickly. Now I improved it and made it in oil. So it is a kind of imitation
of my own work and I have doubts of exposing and selling ... ?
( sorry for my english ) Thanks again Lydia
Hello Lyidia, x So wonderful to be here again, I have been looking at your sky scapes and they are breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL... Your Artist Statement is very true you express real beauty through your work in such a powerful emotive way. This is the kind of work that inspires all artists. Thankyou for the inspiration. This really is a Masterpeice.
Beautiful! I love the warm glow of the light . Nature is the biggest artist of us all, we get inspired by watching it. You are blessed with such a view and by painting it, you share it with us. Thank you so much. 5*****
Hi honey...how are you? not seen you around on pil for a while...does this mean there is a new upload imminent? :)))
Actually I have not been on too much as I have been down with a virus, just coming round now..xx
Hi Al....Thanks for the touch base! There is a new upload coming soon....i have been concentrating on an upcoming solo exhibition, so my time has been spent painting, drawing, painting, and drawing....loving it! Hope your feeling a little better as the day grows. Hey, this new piece of yours is great. Very nice light and reflection. i know you say this type of art doesnt seem to sell but i do believe if you can combine a little of your guilding with your impressionistic talent, you'll have yourself a winner. You'd be contemporarising ( if that's a word ha!) a traditional style... Your drawing skills are great as is your perspective. well done and so nice to hear from you. xx
....well it just happens that the new series I am working on has a little of impressionist/abstract and the gilding...you must be telepathic Lydia...Can't wait to see your new painting/s..and I am so pleased you are enjoying yourself..take care honey.xx
hello there I like your style the colour UMMM its great my self I have a big problem with sky's? cant seem to get them right.
when I look at this picture all so see orins nebula I think it is? Don't mind me I tend to look beyond to see more in a painting
Hi all, I am sending all my friends on pil the same message, as it would take me hours if I didn't just copy & paste!:)
You may have or not as the case may be noticed that I have not been around for a week...well, I was rushed into hospital on Thursday with what turned out to be a Hemorrhage in my lower abdomen...Really really painful!!! but glad to say on the mend now, especially after a few good shots of morphine..:)) Any hows I am still abit weak, but will catch up with everyones new paintings when I feel a bit stronger...It's good to be back, I have missed all of you even if you have not missed me..LOL.....Alison xxx
Thank you Lydia for your comment on "Strenght in Balance".
I know not everybody like my square style, but it is my bow.
Sometimes i do not like it myself :-) When i am beginning to feel like a prisoner of my own squares , it is time to do other work. But the squares will always return. It is my challenge to use much more colours , play with light effects
etc. To get harmony in about 150 different abstracts forming one figurative is very complicated. I hope you will look at new square work once in a while , so maybe someday you may see the special charme of it. ( LOL) you never know.
Thank you for your honest critic. Cheers Robert
I love this peace, the way you paint the luminous edges of clouds with this great light that shines is incredible, It make me feel like ......in peace with the world, thank, excellents work, compliments an everything good for you
hi Cheryl...these beautiful skies are all outside my window. I am fortunate to witness such beauty throughout the seasons here in Melbourne. This was a particular evening while we experienced a hot summer in February this year and the haze that helped filter the suns rays was caused by the bushfires in countryt Victoria.
Absoulutely stunning sky!!! The paintings of fire freak me out tho, as we have had a lot of fires in Greece as you have had in Aust.Yesterday there was a huge fire in Ismere Turkey and the sky here in Samos was black all day w/ winds that would blow you away.Samos is a green island quite near Turkey in the Aegean sea. Thanks for your comment about my chickory...Janet
I know I commented on this painting once but this is just amazing. It's the sky opening up to the heavens and I could stare at this for hours in anticipation.
thankyou very much Brian...It was one of those paintings that almost painted itself. i enjoyed every minute of creating this piece! Your comment makes me happy.
That's nothing I dont like about your work. They are Awesome.
Like Anontino and Roberto whom I admired. I am one of your great admirers. I bow to you. 5*****
Wow...What a powerful piece. Your colours are just amazing. You have captured so much more than wourds could describe in this piece. This is what abstract is about... Capturing the 'Essence". Well done.
I know this is a skyscape, and i really like it like this, but if you turn your laptop 90 degrees clockwise, it's even better!!!! It becomes a distant galaxy!
You're absolutely right! And how terrific of you to do such a thing to view it in all possibilities! well done to you. Thanks so much for your comment!
WOW Lydia, superb sky, spectacular work of art, the absolute dominion of colors and a great deep soul lover of nature. You are one of my favorite painters of this site Regards, Luis
This is absolutely beautiful, Lydia! What an amazing sky,,I feel like I'm really inside your painting,,,looking above at the glorious view! Excellent! 5*****Sincerely, Doris
Lydia, This painting is 'breath taking'! Profound! and Awe Inspiring! Beauty in the clouds, and far reaching! Excellent brush strokes and beautiful colour. So smooth and clear, amidst the darkness. 5***** Regards Angela
Words would fail me when trying to describe this beautiful piece. It's as if heaven is opening up and the rays of the universe are shining. Not in progress...arrived. Masterpiece!! 5***** plus plus to you. Warmest Margaret
