Beautifully done,Sandra,so nice to see Marilyn in a more pensive mood, rather than the Cheesy norm. I like the detail of the book by Her then Husband.Much more of the Woman than the Film Star. Barry.

Cheers, Barry! That's what I wanted to get across - to see Marilyn as a real person, an intelligent, normal woman, instead of the 'dumb blonde sex symbol' Hollywood moulded her into. I think this is who she wanted to be. I wanted to title it 'Read The Book - Never Marry The Author'! But, on her own, with her books, I believe this was the real Marilyn. Take care, Sandra.

Many thanks, Doris. The books almost made me cross-eyed but I'm glad I eventually got there! Have wanted to do one of Marilyn in a positive light for ages, not the usual blonde bombshell pose. All the best, Sandra.

Thanks a lot, Debbie. I did send you an email some time back. Also, a week or so ago, a Facebook request. Not sure if either reached you. But, I still have the 'sent email' in my folder. Anyway, hope you're doing ok. Love, Sandra.

Thank you again, Nigel! Your comments make me feel more positive. Art is a labour of love and I'm trying to get some of my work exhibited, but it's a fruitless task! Dead on, me mate! Love & Peace to Ireland, Sandra.

Artist Statement
for Sandra Keeley
Sandra KeeleyI have been sketching and painting since I was a child. I was born in 1963, year of The Beatles! And the passion for art is still as strong. I live to create. It's my driving force in life. I work mainly in pastel and pencil, and love to paint animals and real-life.
Fantasy. Some portraits. But, I will have a shot at any subject that pops
into my mind or catches my eye.
My favourite artists are Van Gogh, Edward Hopper and Monet, as well as the art and poetry of William Blake. But, Nature, in general, is my biggest inspiration to create.
Now that the crisis seems to be here to stay I rather prefer offering my paintings to friends than to sell them cheaply. What do you think about this?
Hi Isaura. Like you, I am doing the same thing with special people and some friends. I think artist are not really valued like they must, and everything you... view answer
