Egyptiana 5 - Posted for the Paintings in Progress Group

All covered in paint at last. Have to let dry, then some glazes and still some shines. Then some fiddles and then, hopefully finished! ps...in every photo the vase looks blue - it really is GREEN?!

Hi Caroline - I need some feedback. I look at the lowers and decide to change, then decide I like them. I think just some more highlighting will do the trick. Hugs

Oh boy I know that 'change of mind', it can be frustrating. I agree, a little more hightlighting will do the trick, will bring the flowers out more. Good luck!

Hi dear Margaret - the bloody vast is green - green! Why did it always photograph blue? It must be the surrounding colours tricking the camera. I t looks more finished than is - this one is taking ages but just working here and there,

LOL...I get it- it's a bloody green...don't think I have that shade in my paint box!!Still love it. Isn't it the ones you think will flow are the ones that give you angst. The last bling job was for someone and they don't like it..said she doesn't look real? back to the drawing board....

Beautiful shades of blue and of course outstanding composition Mike. Love the reflections on the blue vase which is really green. I have the same problem when I try to photograph gold - it never sparkles and it never looks gold - very frustrating!! I love the egyption figures, they fit perfectly with the whole image. Really lovely work. O:)...

Yes, there is certainly a feeling about Egypt in the style with the ornate figurine and lamp. It has an unique Sudan influence about the succulent blue and orange petals, and reflects the green from the vase, almost an optical illusion, as the blue holds the light!

Interesting play of colour field, Mike! Regards Angela Susan
