Hi my name is Brandi Elkin im 21 years old Im from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvaina. I have always had an interst in art I mostly had drawn alot but about 2 years ago I discovered the world of paint..Well Acrylic paint..So Im new to the painting sceen..But all of my paintings are originals and one-of-a kind...If you are intersted in any just let me know it might be for sale...And they are cheap...
I havnt tryed oils yet so if anyone who happen to have any pointers on using oils or acrylic let me know...I would love to here from anyone i love feedback good or bad :)...you can contact me through myspace or facebook or email me at standpenart@gmail.com

You can draw, this is proof. It's only you that holds you back from your true self in art. Drawing only intimidates because of self doubt, and I can just picture you frustrated with your won work at times. I know, I was the very same way, only drawing was where I started. Pencil in my hand is where I am most comfortable. Painting, watercolors, pastels, experimentation were my self doubting demons. They are there because we want perfection like we think we see in other artist's. It sure is intimidating to see the works of others that are so wonderfully awesome, and thinking we could never achieve that. We may not, but maybe we aren't suppose to.
I give you a 5 star but this one is worth far more.
For the eyes, I can teach you, if you like? =)

the shading is just perfect and your use of light is soft and tender. You captured your youth combined with your 'too old for you age' emotions. the romance and innocence and your blue side are all there. big kiss for a great selfportrait!
