That must have been one very special horse you had! What a sweet way to show you the affection she had for you by laying her head in your lap! Oh, I'm picturing that and it's just so beautiful! Thank you my friend for loving this one and for your wonderful comment. I really enjoyed drawing this one.

thanks hon...when I was young, about 24 yrs old I lived on a small farm where we raised chickens, hogs and had 3 huge gardens of which I canned over 500 quarts of veggies every summer..We were given a newly born calf because the mom couldn't nurse her...it was such a pleasure feeding her, and watching her grow...she also would put her head in my lap when the sun was up and we enjoyed smelling the flowers, and resting after work was done. My Vet said my animals knew how much I loved them that's why the showed love back. Raised hundreds of little chicks in a box under a light in the living room each year too...so much fun...just wanted to share a little more of my wonderful time on the farm. It was hard but rewarding...at butcher time I had the task of grinding meat to make sausage (at least hundreds of one lb bags to sell. that was an all night job. heheh Then the task of making Cracklin...yummm

What wonderful life experiences you had living on a farm! Being a city girl I can't really relate to that but it does sound wonderful to me! My husband grew up on a farm and he tells me all about it and how he misses it and would love to live out in the country again. Your vet is right..these animals that we show love to just want to show it back and they really are so affectionate in their own way. We've had so many dogs over the years, and they all have been this way and each one very special to us. Thanks for sharing with me, my friend! I enjoyed reading it!

Thank you, Steevi! I'm so glad you like it! By the way, the sides are all painted on that painting so there's no need to frame it. You'll notice that the hanger is on there too.

The eye got my attention first of all before I knew it was a horse. I love the soft textures which perfectly emphasize the intimate moment between horse and rider. Beautiful work Mary.
