ego wailing by Irena Erstenuk

ego wailing

mixed media on canvas, 24x18"
I am not sure if I am finished with this piece?
I wonder if I used too much of black?

I consider you quite a master of black and thank you for "different".. that is exactly what I am striving for.

I like all that black pulls the piece together. To have a piece an abstract speak to me it cant be too fragmented. Good job. The black is broken here and there.

You have examined my painting rather intensely and I really like it. Thanks!

A wonderful abstract and the black works as a beautiful and necessary color to pull the composition together. Love this and a definite fave for me!

amazing contrast with the former painting, heavy expression of sorrow.....to me at least.Abstract 100%, great!
I will keep it safe in case you might change something.
(Never use black myself )

take care Ellen

So interesting you see sorrow in this piece. Thank you for the favorite.
I noticed you never do.. something about that red, isn't it? Very sanguine.

It's not too much black, looks great the way it is! I'd say it's finished, wouldn't add anything else to it. The black looks great, overall it's very good, the cream colored spots give just enough light color to contrast with the black, really like it.

I also believe it's finished. Thank you for your great comment dear Michael!

This is a cool piece. It's abstract, and mechanical. I love it.! The dark quality is amazing.

Personally, if I'm unsure if I've finished with a painting I just leave it to one side for a week or so then look at again for an answer.

You are quite right George. Thanks

Beautiful work! If you think there is too much back you might try adding just a little strong colors like red or yellow to accent areas and balance off the black, still lovely a is! Make me want to venture back into abstracts. Best, T.

You are right about the red. I'll think about it.. first I'll observe and decide where? Please go back to abstract.. there is so much mystery hidden.
Thank you and just do it!
