Anstruther Pier In The Haar by Robin Forsyth

Anstruther Pier In The Haar

Oil on canvas (14"x20") Painted 30th June in the haar(sea mist) Very little colour that day plus a slight rain. (SOLD)
love the texture and the simpleness of the subject, but you receive maximum attention with the contrast of heavy and lighter parts...great perspective.

I like it a lot, Robin. May it be because the atmosphere is totally different? (Poles attract each other, don't they?)

I nearly left it too late, the mist had burned off in the late afternoon sun just as I was packing up my gear. Thanks for commenting, I love your work.

Hi Robin, I really like this..the atmosphere you convey, the wetness, and the impasto detail at the front, of something so mundane, but beautiful.

Thank you.

Fantastic Lighting. A hazy day captured so well...must be getting near midday judging by the shadows??

Started around 1 o'clock, the sun was high but never really broke through until 4ish. Thanks for the interest. All the best.

There is beauty...even on a gray day, Robin! Excellent painting! I feel a very quiet atmosphere, here! 5***** Sincerely, Doris

It was quiet, just the chatter of a couple of bairns playing and the shreek of the odd seagull.
Cheers.

Great technique Robin, you have made a dull day look so interesting. Nothing like a wee bit of sea mist to give atmosphere.
