My friend, also if you put a simple line on canvas, i think that is a good work...because you have a so reconizable touch...!
The colors are alive and your texture is great as usual. I love this work.
Roberto, You are so kind to take the time and the energy to support what I am trying to do. It has never been about how many stars but trusting someone who I know to be a real artist in breath and deed. Your comments often sustain me. Ti amo , ricardo
Nice work Rick, I see a certain pride and nobility in your rooster, he's definitely at the top of the pecking order in his roost! love your colours and texture.
I love the dark underpainting, the red, and mostly, I love the eye, it somehow anchors everything. This is a lovely painting. Can't wait to see what new colours you might decide to use.
on color I am learning a lot just by looking at your recent painting. Lots of different colors are somehow so united and very personal to you. I haven't seen color themes like it around here much.
Hi Rick, the thing I like most about this is the colour. The yellow background is dazzling. The rooster's comb is quite regal and elegant. He looks quite majestic standing there as if at any moment he will raise a wing and give a royal wave. :) Really do like it Rick. Paula XXX
Just love your rooster Rick. Beautiful brush strokes on the feathers. Love the colours you have used which I know now you own. This stood out on the thumb nail and had to go back and look. Didnt know it was yours. Wonderful 5 stars.
the subject is so unpretentiously simple, Rick but you made a glowing jewel out of it in your own artistic way....your colour work is amazing dense and powerful....
Well, this work proves your motto about the use of a limited palette. You're using the three basic colors (red, yellow and blue) in such harmony. The use of brush / knife strokes, I think tends to be your style. Great result my friend.
Why thank you JJ or Josh if you like that better. I like your painting as well. I even like the title. I also like how every one is holding hands. That means a lot. Keep up the painting.
van gogh cam to my mind too when I saw this cock/rooster. I think it is a combination of the vibrant colours, particularly the yellow, and the texture.
Dear Rick! Very nice colorfull professional work! Your painting is very similar to early period of Gauguin.Tipical cloissonistic colors.Yours faithfully: Ákos Szeri!
I like this painting. I love the colours and texture. Sorry I can't make technical comments about the technique etc. I don't know enough about art to be so presumtious. I read your comment on Jami's work. Thankyou I got a lot from both your and Gregory's critique. My aim on PIL is to learn something, gain some confidence and improve. Oh and enjoy everyone else's contribution to so many diverse forms of art. Kaz
Hi Rick, love this painting. I'm also glad to report that Dad is doing much better today and I want to thank you very much for all your concern. Sorry it took so long to get this to you I haven't been on much lately. Take care and again thank you, Holly
This one I like, Rick. I like the way you layered the color, the simplicity of the design, the yellow background. It takes some talent to make white look interesting. I'll comment on your others, and you asked for honesty, so don't get mad.
It's funny, my boyfriend says that I'm totally here to get stroked! lol. He says it's like mutual masturbation. Although, as I told you, I never say anything that is not true. I happen to love art and artists and I'm pretty expressive about it.
