Hi steve a great self portrate. It so reminds me of someone in the old west. You look like a carector from a wild west film and that is a complement by the way. Hello Steve, finally caught up with my backlog..I have had a really bad virus, and just couldn't get my brain cells to comment or even muster up the energy to do anything..still feeling a little out of sorts.

Oh by the way that wasn't that long ago,lol, around "99 actually, I was trying out some, at the time new line of Prima Oil paints. They have a fantstic pigment.

HaHa that's fine Maurice, I wondered whe n that was gonna come up, it is finished for me. It wasn't meant to be a highly polished portrait. I did it very quickly, trying out some new oils, I have always considered it an oil sketch. Thanks my friend

Hi all, I am sending all my friends on pil the same message, as it would take me hours if I didn't just copy & paste!:)
You may have or not as the case may be noticed that I have not been around for a week...well, I was rushed into hospital on Thursday with what turned out to be a Hemorrhage in my lower abdomen...Really really painful!!! but glad to say on the mend now, especially after a few good shots of morphine..:)) Any hows I am still abit weak, but will catch up with everyones new paintings when I feel a bit stronger...It's good to be back, I have missed all of you even if you have not missed me..LOL.....Alison xxx

Artist Statement
for shhightower
shhightowerBorn in Tulsa Oklahoma 1949, started painting at an early age, with no formal training. Hightower works in oil, acrylic, ink, watercolor, and pencil. In addition to his Western work, he has created a series of oil paintings, illustrations to the Old and New Testaments. He and his wife Teresa installed these paintings on a rotating basis in churches in their home area, free of charge.
I also played drums professionaly for 33 years. Played the Dallas Ft. Worth area, Houston, Waco and all over Oklahoma, Started playing in Arizona at age 14, in "64 we cut 4 singles on the Pride label. Worked with Charlie Pride, Johnnie Lee Wills, Billy Parker, at Cain's Ballroom, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I produce a line of artist signed lodge furniture and accessories since 1979 to present date, I have it on a myspace site, please feel free to add me.
