Everything about this one is totally smashing. I love the soft pastels. The pose of the little girl is adorable. The blues including those gorgeous blue eyes make me melt with joy. Paula XXX
First I want to thank you for your comment on my work. This child is beautiful and you have captured her very well. For your 1st. water color. What a talent you have. I love it. Keep up the good work and will be looking forward to seeing your next painting. Kind regards, Norma
Nancy, this watercolor is perfect,as artists we seem to be very sensitive at times and react badly to what people say.you have a real gift, don't ever let anyone stop you using it.hugs Hazel
I agree with Hazel in every way. You keep up the good work and don't let anyone tell you different. What a wonderfu talent you have. Gentle hugs, Norma
soft and sweet, beautiful colours.a really lovely portrait.how i would love to do such beautiful watercolour...but i simply can't make it do what i want it to do.
Nancy- This is so stunning! The colors you used... showing and representing a soft touch.. just like a child.. with the little character we all love from children.. Plus I really like your style with watercolors! This is truly and outstanding portrait.. and a 5* plus and plus... :):)
and the wonderful gesture with her hands adjusting her shades that by the way way have a beautiful tint. The clear beautiful eyes and even the way the hat rests on her head. Believe I have seen many paintings with the hat not resting right sometimes looking like it had fallen from the sky and just landed there. Nice
Oh, this is just adorable! You've captured a wonderful expression, the colours are so delicate and I love the soft style focussed in the centre of the page, it's just precious, congratulations!
Very beautiful, Nancy.....I can see why this one is a favorite.....her blue eyes and lovely little face, bring a big smile to my face! Sincerely, Doris
Dear Nancy, I am in awe of your talent!! Watercolor has always been my favorite medium. Although it is, (for me).. the most difficult. Mine almost look like anything, other than a watercolor...;] I think all that water running around..scares me..lol. Look forward to veiwing, more of your work!
Sincerely, Thea ;]
Thank you, Armando.....these are words I need to hear. I am working on paintings for our children's museum and right about now I am thinking "I can't do it"!
You are very gifted artist! This your watercolour portrait is really PERFECT! Katheleen is like angel and like "big" lady with purple glasses! Congratulations 5*
Kathleen, thank you for commenting on cactus flowers! This is very good. Watercolor is not the best for portrait work, hard/soft pastels, or oil paints are the prefered medium. colored pencils (derwent) are also good but since you like portraits, don't make it hard, use a medium which lends itself to the subject. Janet
I find watercolor to be the best medium I can handle. I can't stand pastel and colored pencils are what I got away from. Thanks for your insight Janet!
what a classy looking little baby
well done nancy

Alexandra, you make me feel so warm and accepted...and the things you say make me happy. You are one of those gifted artists that all of the love you have as an artist flows out of you beautifully. Thank you....there has never been a time in my life like now that your warm and fuzzies are so needed. Thank you a million times over. Love Nancy
I can see why it’s many people’s favorite. You did an outstanding job on it. No one would ever guess that this was your first attempt at watercolors. Everything is perfect about it, down to the pose and colors. She is such an adorable little girl, I’m sure she’ll cherish it for years to come.

Drawing and painting are my true loves. I have drawn off and on most of my life and started watercolor painting several years ago. I love it because it flows so beautifully easy. I love painting faces which are so beautiful to me. The moods of people fascinate me and the paintings they make are so connected to who I am. If you would like to commision me to do a painting for you, you can email me at
