Thank you so very much PJ. I've been holding onto this one....but I couldn't wait anymore. Had to upload it. Thank you so much for making me feel like I'm not just a black dot on a page. You are very special to me. Paula XXX
this is a very touching piece, even before reading the description, and even more after reading.. Seems to be true to your style, at least from what I've seen. Another cool, unique piece, in the series? Is the series on going or do you know when it ends. I've been wanting to ask about that.
Hi Chris, there will be 13 works in the series. There are 2 more to come. Some are probably visions people don't want to see....but they are out there and they shouldn't be. Thank you so much for asking Chris. These are all issues that touch me in some way or another. Paula XXX
Great use of colour Paula! The reds and black go so well together, and the yellow just give so much light to it! I like the symbolism as well. Very well done
Great thoughts you convey, Paula - so full of meaning; a really touching moment you portray! Striking palette, and good choice of style: expressionist - with an important message to express. I hope you're keeping well, my friend, William x
Oh you're just saying that professor! :))))) My work is like a little insignificant pebble alongside of your great big enormously magnificent boulders!!! Ha ha Do you like that analogy???? Thank you for making me smile. Have had a couple of tuff days. I'm okay though. XXX TTT
yeah, good analogy...hope your ok.IN art nobody is better or worse,in creating what they feel, its all 2 do with self confidence, the desire 2 create,to look and learn from life...never underestimate yourself...
Wonderful drawing of a wonderful man who did so much for all of us, of every race, colour or creed. The colours are intense and only add to the powerful statement. 5*
absolutely breathtaking...sad world we live in when measured by events such as the one in the pic...the hate...i love that you have captured this Paula...it is important to remember so as not to forget...we must learn from our mistakes...
i love your use of color...the subject...everything...5 and more stars to you (((hugs)))....olskie
Where did you get the idea to paint in this style? It's amazing! So unique, I love it! Your work has a lot of emotion in it, which is something I admire in art.
Thank you Raven. In the earlier works of this series I worked mainly with dark shadow work. Then in these 3 later works I replaced the shadows with color. I loved the way that the figures blended in with the background, but you could still clearly see the image. I liked this style a lot, but it's quite a tediously long way of getting the final image, because of the layers and layers of pencil work involved. I also use quite a simple technique to get a quasi-painted look about the work, but it is all totally done with pencils. I'm pleased with the style, but now I think I will be returning to my paints to explore new techniques and styles. XXX
