Artist Statement
for Richard Ficker
Richard FickerWith the exception of a painting class I took in high school I am a self taught artist. I have always looked at the world as an artist, light, shadow, color, and form, but was always to busy to paint. In 2002 at the age of 49 I started, and have been playing catch up ever since. I've started doing shows and selling my work, and hope to some day be able to support myself on my art, so I can paint full time.
I didn't have a good picture of myself,so this is one I painted If your interested in purchasing my work, or a gallery thats interested in displaying it, email

This is lovely. I use the upside-down method on quite a regular basis it helps especially when I tend to oversize certain areas like eyes or mouth etc. ... view answer
