Melted Crayons by Richard Ficker

Melted Crayons

When the ocean looks like melted crayons at the end of day.
The wind is low the lines are long, and mermaids come to play.

Thank you Almira that's a great compliment, I think if a work of art is doing its job, it should lead you to make up the story.

Artist Statement
for Richard Ficker
Richard FickerWith the exception of a painting class I took in high school I am a self taught artist. I have always looked at the world as an artist, light, shadow, color, and form, but was always to busy to paint. In 2002 at the age of 49 I started, and have been playing catch up ever since. I've started doing shows and selling my work, and hope to some day be able to support myself on my art, so I can paint full time.
I didn't have a good picture of myself,so this is one I painted If your interested in purchasing my work, or a gallery thats interested in displaying it, email rickland4@bellsouth.net
