One of the cutest paintings of children I have seen!

Thank you so much, this was an emotional experience painting this, and when I gave it to the subject I actually bawled. She is now dead and the painting came back to me.
6 months
That is so sad. Was she still a child when she died? Heart wrenching.
6 months
No, she died as an old lady, lived a hell raising life, but she loved the painting and it was an emotional experience, as I loved this lady.

Too busy taking care of children, husband, 10 dogs and a garden... now I have all the time, and not much money! Isn't that the way it goes?

Thank you Madeleine.. I understand you are French? Back in my youth it was not as easy to get to France as it is now from England. A place I would love to visit.
6 months
Yes, Valia, and going from France to England was like going to the moon! I spent a year in Bournemouth in 1959-60 as an exchange instructor, and it was just lovely. England is so different from France... not so much northern France but southern France, where I come from.

Artist Statement
for Valerie Curtiss "Valia"
Valerie Curtiss "Valia"A self taught artist, author, and photographer, Valerie was born in England, but is now living and working in NW Montana. With no formal training, she learned to paint by copying her favorite paintings. She says "I love to use lots of paint and lots of color, and for the present, I have this urge to paint the beauty of flowers. I recently started painting again, having not touched a paintbrush in the last 40 years!"

Now visiting the home of Isaura, near Porto, she is living with the beautiful paintings of Isaura. She is now filling her heart with the warmth of the Portuguese soul and her stomach with the wonderful Portuguese food!

Her first book, "You Can't Have Too Many Boston Terriers" a humorous look at living with 7 Bostons, is available in Paperback at ttp://www.booklocker.com/books/4423.html. She is working on writing her second "Treetops and Tidepools" another true life look at living at Treetops, the garden, the Boston Terriers, all in a quaint hillside cottage perched on a hillside in a small town on the Southern Oregon Coast.

Her writing Portfolio is also available for reading on the Triond Website: https://www.triond.com/users/Valerie+Curtiss
