for Merete Holm Vinther
My name is Merete Holm Vinther and I was born in 1957. I am a self-taught artist and I began painting in 2006. Previously my hobby was to photograph and that was what made me interested in painting.
I am inspired by nature and by my surroundings. Photos, both my own and photos in newspapers, etc. are inspiring me too. Small details and moments can also lead to an idea. Colors and imagination both have great importance in my paintings. Everything is possible ... no limitations. I love the immersion of the process itself. To get an idea and transfer it unto the canvas, is a satisfaction for me. I love to create paintings. Lack of inspiration isn't something I know of. ..
The intention is that my work of art touches you and makes you feel brighter in your mind. If you are enjoying my paintings, or if you got a good experience from looking at them, that is something which will make me very happy
.
Painting is really something which makes my feel relaxed. I simply forget time and place.

I've been attracted to your painting 'White Flowers' mostly because it's lucent and the colours are are lovely. I really like paintings which use light well.
