Beautiful flower arrangement artwork. Because the size of photos are limited it would have been if the photo was cropped so more of the painting was shown. I would have liked to have seen the brush strokes.

So sorry Ray, since the painting had already been framed, we had a devil of a time photographing it without reflection. It was the best we could do. I've learned my lesson and from now on, I photograph the painting BEFORE the framing. Altho I do believe that the matting and the frame do add a lot to snap out the picture, which is the case in this one. This is a pastel and the strokes are visable up close. Thanks for the comment. maryannstandbackart.

Artist Statement
for maryannstandbackart(c)
maryannstandbackart(c)My love of art began in 1947, when I was first introduced to the "Berlin Masterpieces", at the St Louis Museum of Art. Then 2 1/2 years of Art History classes gave me the real insight of art, from Leonardo to Jean-Michel Bisquiat. I love them all,and have been fortunate to have travelled to museums world wide to feed my passion.I am currently reduced to monthly museum and Art Show fixes, locally, which is not a problem, as our Sacramento and Placer County area Artists are more than capable of sufficiently feeding the "Passion". In the past I have been involved in the Silicon Valley art scene, and studied there with various oil Instructors in Cupertino and Saratoga.
I also served as Art Chair for the Rocklin Friends of the Library, and was co-founder and President of Rocklin Fine Arts.
I currently am continuing my Pastel, Oil and Collage works and am now dabbling into acrylics and watercolors.
So much more to discover in this wide world of ART!
