Anthony, I see no reason why you cannot forfill your dream and become a portrait artist. If you can produce artwork of this calibre at 18 the world is your oyster. Best wishes, Dick.
a very good work! her pose looks very realistic. you asked for constructive criticism - well it's all very good, i can hardly find anything "wrong" in it, maybe just that thare's not enough differece in the colour of the hair and face. maybe the top of her head should be in brighter tones, that's all. but it's a beautiful work, i love it.
Great work, you already have a high standard. Therefore one piece of advise: the outline of her body is too sharp. That makes her seems to be like a cut out form, if you know what I mean. Especially the hair: I miss the fine hair , the loose ends so to say. But for the rest : amazing portrait. 5*****
Dear Anthony, you want comment ond this? I love to burn it down for you but can't find anything, its a very good impression. very talented, I would soften the lines ass wel and add a bit more of that dark green on the down to the left.

Hello Anthony. I think you should continue with your art (even on a casual basis) as I think you could do quite well. What a gift! Lovely painting, will love to watch you blossom young man. regards Maree

This is a lovely early work, helped by the soft tones cast in a gentle light. The 19th Century artists like Corot would have enjoyed her classically strong arms. I particularly like the gentle touches on the skirt, and how the background colours mesh with the figure. It's a bit hard to direct you to a professional career on the strength of 1 x work. Questions will arise such as: was it copied from a photo? How are you at rendering in plein air? Are you consistent in approach? Do you have a thematic interest? etc
This is a strong start, but post us a few more and I'm sure many other folk here will offer constructive comments. Good luck, do heaps!!
Hi Anthony. Congratulations on your work. Excellent! But I have to disagree with you when you say "I have hopes of becoming a professional artist.". In my book there is no need for hope since you already are a professionnal! Just keep up the hard work, the rest will come. I have a feeling that your work will be appreciated by many in the years to come. Best wishes. GC
