Hi esti QVS, thank you for inviting me. I am glad for one thing, no one has objected to the title of the painting. A few years ago I submitted this painting to be included in the City of Ottawa Art Exhibit. There is this idea that painting the female figure is sexist. For this reason I thought to be gender neutral and chose the title 'Hermaphrodite'. To my surprise I discovered 'Hermaphrodite' is also politically incorrect, LOL, I gave up. The City of Ottawa did not accept my work, no reasons given.

for Gerard Felderhof

Canada

Art can bring to life hidden feelings, emotions, reveal, question, but also may intrigue and mystify (opposite of reveal). The painter in his quest and journey has the joy exprience of going to all these different places. The artist punches through the veneer of the everyday thin apparent reality thereby contributes a great deal to the joy of living. Life is enhanced by art in all its forms. Long live the artist!
