After gaining an 'A' Level in art at school, and getting a place at art college, sadly my dad died and I felt I had to get a job to help my mum and three younger siblings still at school. Apart from drawing for my children I didn't lift a paintbrush again until 8 years ago. Painting was always something I was going to take up again once I retired. 'You might be dead by then' said my husband (ever the optimist!), so bought me a whole load of art stuff for my birthday. How scary was that!! I joined an art club, and retired two years ago so have been able to go on a couple of courses which has helped me enormously.
Sincerely
William Thomas
