Hello to all artist and lovers of art
Last summer while I spend some time in Spain, surprisingly I came across the opening of an exhibition of the Spanish artist Juan Alcón. I had the chance to become acquainted with him and since then I’m a great admirer of his artistry. Alcón was very successful in the nineteen-sixties until the nineteen-eighties far outside the borders of his country. I have listed some of his awards and exhibitions below,
After a crippling stroke it was not sure if the artist would be able to paint again but the creative power of Alcon was unbroken. Today the 72 year old artist lives on Majorca, Spain close to the City of Palma. He is still active painting.
More than ever I’m delighted with the paintings of Juan Alcón and I think it’s a great pity that his work is not anymore accessible to a major public. However with this selection on the "Paintings I love" site I would give the chance to a broader public of artists and lovers of art to get in contact with the wonderful paintings of Juan Alcón.
Part of the works descends from his private collection and most of them are originated in the nineteen-eighties and nineteen-nineties.
I did not fill in descriptions to the single paintings. I thing every picture is telling more then 1000 words.
I hope you enjoy the gallery and I will forward all of your comments to the artist directly.
Sincerely
