Hibiscus

This is one of my favourite Hibiscus paintings. I donated it to a Breast Cancer Fundraiser last year in which it was auctioned off.

this beautiful flower commands attention. the colour is striking and the gentle folds of the petals are very well defined. the leaves are well formes but don,t overwhelm. i really like this lyndsey. 5***** +

Hi David, Thanks for the lovely comments. From memory (I donated it late 2008)it was painted with acrylics (Global Professional and Derivan Matisse Professional ranges). I also work in oils and oils over acrylic and stupidly had not made a comment on the media I used in my diary! Happy New Year. Cheers Lyndsey

for Lyndsey Hatchwell

Australia

I am a third generation painter & sculptor. Taught to paint in oils originally by my father, I returned to painting about 5 years ago. Since then I have studied watercolour painting at The Julian Ashton School of Art in Sydney as well as working with acrylic paints in my studio. I paint just about every subject as I enjoy a challenge! My works are for sale (originals and/or prints are available)
