Hello Charles:
You are a fellow American Retired Person. Congratulations on your artistic hobby. Art is strictly a hobby for me also. Like you, I have sold some prints of my work, but I never sell an original. My paintings are my children. Welcome to the Contemporary Art group. Best wishes, Carl

if training will inprove your painting and art vocality, it will be of benifit, but if you feel the art within, it will evolve as you practice.

Hi Charles - Thank you for nice comment. I am really self taught in a way, but I have had a lot of assistance from a few good artists. A few years back I did some studies with floral artist Gary Jenkins. I said at one stage if only I could spend a year with you and he said - "And then you would paint just like me ... much better to go and think for yourself." Charles - I think Gary would say just the same to you. Cheers Mike

like this a lot, proof that (if i may take a liberty) you can teach grandpa. I particulary like the way you have rendered the fireworks and the textured night sky.

for Charles Clevenger
Charles ClevengerI am a retired academician who started to paint about nine years ago, My son calls me Grandpa Moses, a reference to both my age and the naive style of my work. I haven't painted a lot, almost always for my Christmas card which explains the preponderance of winter scenes. A couple of the paintings have been used by Harrisburg, PA businesses as holiday cards, and almost all of the paintings have been sold by a local gallery,
